Timothy Bickmore, Ph.D.
| Assistant Professor Dr. Bickmore's research investigates long-term social-emotional interactions between people and anthropomorphic computer agents ('relational agents'), primarily in the context of health education and counseling systems. His interests span human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, computational linguistics, computer graphics and medical informatics. He received his PhD in Media Arts & Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was a member of the Gesture & Narrative Language and Affective Computing research groups at the Media Laboratory. Prior to joining Northeastern, he spent two years as an Assistant Professor at the Boston University School of Medicine. |
